WHYYYYY NOTTTT (why not?) TAKE A CRAZY CHANCE? WHYYY NOT? (why not) DO A CRAZY DANCE?! YOU MIGHT LOSE A MOMENT, OR YOU MIGHT LOSE A LOT, SO WHY NOT? WHY NOT?
So the other day, Sister Park asked if we should stop by this house and I said “Why Not?” and then we both started singing the Hilary Duff song AT THE SAME TIME! So that was cool. Thats our motto. Another motto is “Come what may and Love it!”
GOD IS SO POWERFUL This week has been the best week of my mission. Possibly the best week of my life. God richly blessed us. It honestly isn’t about numbers, but just to give you an idea of how insanely blessed we’ve been, God allowed us to teach a total of 54 lessons 😮 He gave us 11 solid progressing investigators, guided us to 8 new investigators simply from talking to everyone in-between appointments and sharing the Book of Mormon. Through God, we have given out 28 Books of Mormon with testimonies in each one. If you told me I would have all these incredible spiritual experiences last Monday, I wouldn’t have believed you. I would have laughed my head off. But I am a different person today than I was last week. I have come so much closer to my Savior and come to understand the atonement in a new way. It is so enabling and so powerful. But I can’t just ask God to strengthen me and then sit on my lazy butt. I have to WORK. I worked harder this week than I have in my entire life. This is because I really tried to get over myself and put my trust in the Lord. I tried to have “an eye single to the glory of God”. The more strictly I obeyed His commandments, the deeper my love for Him grew. The deeper my love for Him grew, the more I wanted to serve his children. The more I wanted to serve His children, the less I worried about all my pitiful little insecurities and problems. In short, I realized that “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land” is a very accurate, beautiful statement. The first and great commandment is to LOVE GOD. As we LOVE GOD and LOVE OTHERS EVERYTHING IS CHILLLLLL. Keeping the commandments just puts you in a position to be blessed.
‘Nevertheless, I did look unto my God, and I did praise him all the day long; and I did not murmur against the Lord because of mine afflictions… I prayed unto the Lord; and after I had prayed the winds did cease, and the storm did cease, and there was a great calm.” -1 Nephi 18:16,21
I truly wish I could share all my experiences with you. THERES JUST NO TIME! SO MANY MIRACLES! NO ONE WARNED ME ABOUT HOW MANY MIRACLES I’D SEE ON THE MISH! NO ONE WARNED ME THAT MY HEART WOULD EXPLODE OUT OF LOVE FOR THESE PEOPLE!!!!
I will share one tiny little experience that deeply touched my soul. So we work in Fayetteville Pines (these joint house/apartment things) and we know just about everyone there because we go there about every night to teach some investigators. Well, a friend of ours has the cutest daughter named Ruby (shes bout 9 years old). Ruby’s mother isn’t at all interested and seems a bit depressed- always has a drink in her hand. Last week, Ruby was playing outside and overheard us teaching these young high school girls about God’s love and praying with them and reading them some scriptures. So yesterday, we walked by this woman’s car and offered to help her unload her groceries. She allowed us to help her and told us her daughter, Ruby had been asking about us and wanted to talk to us. We went to their backyard and sat with Ruby. She told us about how she is having a hard time lately and about this church she used to pray at with her dad and how her dad left them and how she wants to pray again but doesn’t know how. We prayed with her and while I was praying, Sister Park said she peeked at Ruby and saw the sweetest smile on her face of just bliss and joy. We told Ruby about God’s love and the Saviors atonement. We read her from the Book of Mormon and gave her a picture of Christ. She was so happy. The reason I share this story is because of how important it is to have the Holy Ghost. As we live in a way that the Holy Ghost can dwell in us, people see that light and they are attracted to it. Ruby felt that spirit and wanted it! There is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone feel the spirit and realizing how much God loves them. It fills me with this joy I can’t explain. I love Ruby so much. I love this gospel so much. I love sister Park so much. I love my family so much and my Savior and my Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost so much. There is so much to be grateful for! SO much to rejoice in!
My challenge for you this week is to pick up every penny you see this week. I will explain what that means next week! (credit:sister Park) but until then, just ponder on it! I LOVE YOU ALL THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!
