Albany NY Week 73 – Act, Do Not Be Acted Upon

For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward. Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness; For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.” D&C 58:28

Forewarning, this email is all over the place, just like me rn because I have wayyyyy tooo much energy and it is hard to sit down and email. But here it is.

We have God given power to make choices. WE choose our destiny and happiness! If we can believe we can achieve something, through the grace (enabling power) of the Savior, we can! We must think and act for ourselves and find joy in our labors. We must choose to be optimistic and positive, always striving to do better and never settling for mediocrity. In order to make good things happen that need to happen, we must turn to the Lord and HE will give us success! It is His will and desire for us to find joy in this life and in the eternities! Is that our desire? Are we choosing happiness? Do we recognize that power within us?

As sister Redd and I have chosen to turn to God and do His will, we have seen miraculous things happen that need to happen! Nick is doing great and making changes in his life, Tom is striving to live the word of wisdom and is doing excellent! He and the kids came to church this week, it willed my soul with joy! Charity is also working on living the word of wisdom and preparing for baptism, Laurie and Aaliyah continue to meet with us and are striving to come over some major roadblocks, we are seeing peoples hearts change and our hearts are changing right alongside them! As we understand our God given gift of agency and the power faith has in our lives, we are better able to help them understand and live these principles! We were also able to teach faith in action to the valiant elevens this week! They are such strong, noble spirit children of God! I love learning and growing in my faith and understanding of the Lords plan. I know that as I learn and act on these things, I will be prepared to help my future family learn these incredible truths! We also had a fantastic MLC and blitz with Glenville! All in all it has been an exhausting, outstanding, absolutely perfect week!

Let us not wait to be commanded to do good things. Let us always be using our little grey cells to act! My commitment for you is to be agents not objects! Act, do not be acted upon. Do not allow other people or circumstances to rule over you. As you are anxiously engaged in the cause of Zion, you will be happy. Keep smiling those gorgeous smiles!
