“And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!” -D7C 18:15
It had been a wild week with blitzing the elders area, having a bby exchange, MLC in Utica, getting attacked by chiggers again, having a reunion with sister DeGolyer, Park and Rodriguez, making delicious bowls of guac, meeting more of Gods children, teaching repentance and preparing souls for baptism! It has been wonderful!
Something I have been thinking a lot about is the one. Focusing on the one. Serving the one. Loving the one. We have met such amazing people this week. We had the most incredible lessons with Mark, Jan, Alexa and Tom, Lenard, Kaitlyn and others! Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing the joy others find in the Savior!
My mom sent me this tiny, gold starfish necklace! She reminded me of the story of the man who walked along the beach throwing the seastars back into the ocean. The shore was filled with thousands of washed up seastars. A man asked, “Why are you wasting your time throwing them back into the ocean? There are far too many for you to make a difference.” The man chucked another starfish in the ocean, looked at him and replied with a smile, “Made a difference for that one.”
There are thousands of people around us who are struggling and suffering. Thousands who do not understand who they are and why they are here. It can be overwhelming to think about all the work there is to do in this crazy world. We must focus on the one and all will one day be accomplished through the Lord! As we lift, serve, praise and express gratitude we can make a difference in a life.
This week, I invite everyone to save a starfish this week. Look at the shore full of needs, and get to work! Text a thank you, give a smile, listen, serve and lift! I know as we all run out to the beach, together we can clear the shore, one starfish at a time. Then we can all jump in the ocean and have a jolly grand time swimming with our star friends in the sea of love and friendship!!!!
