“To be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.”                  -2 Nephi 9:39

Every human in this world has completely unique eyes, along with completely different ways of seeing the world around them. It is like millions of mini universes within the same planet. God has blessed us with the ability to choose for ourselves how we see the world. Do we choose to see the blessings and the beauty to see the world through Gods eyes, or do we look around us and wish we lived in another’s world?

One talk that really stood out to me at general conference was Elder Yoon Hwan Chpoi. He urged us to not look around in uncertainty, but to LOOK UP with faith! As we look up we can see ourselves and others with spiritual eyes, we can find joy that will entirely overcome us-joy that overflows our hearts with love. We will obtain the eyes of Christ and be able to see things as He does! Isn’t that an amazing thought?! It is true! That is how Zion is created! Developing ad eye single to Gods glory!

One way sister Thomas and I looked up, was setting a specific goal for helping Gods children in this area make covenants with Him. It was a high goal, but as we submitted our will to Gods, we felt it was right. We continued in faith, not knowing how obtaining this goal would be possible. The following three days were pretty miraculous. The first night, the elders called us with a referral. It was a man who had recently moved in the area. He is married to a recent convert of the church and ready and wanting to be baptized! The next day, we knocked on some apartment doors. About 20 doors rejected the message, but finally a sweet woman named Karen answered. She invited us in and told us she felt recently that she needed to be baptized. She showed us new books on baptism she had just ordered and was anxious for us to come back and teach her about it. Day three, Brittany and Drew (coolest couple EVER) texted us after conference and thanked us for coming into their lives and said they felt this was the right path for them. She said she was wondering about religion and God just a week prior to us knocking on their door and she felt that was a sign from God! Miracles are real as often as we exercise faith in Christ, brothers and sisters! Christ is preparing the way for you! Your Heavenly Father wants so badly to answer your specific, heartfelt prayers! So look up to Him! Seek His will. Seek His counsel!

I stand with the prophets and apostles in testifying that JESUS IS THE CHRIST! As we learn what that means, we will raise our eyes to the heavens in praise and deep gratitude!

I encourage you to LOOK UP! Look up from your phone, your fears, your past, your doubts, your television, your judgments, and your sorrows. Look up to the one who gives life. The world can never offer spiritual satisfaction. Do NOT look around. Only Christ can fill us with eternal love and peace.
