Manchester VT Week 39 – Recognize Tender Mercies Daily

“I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance.” -1 Nephi 1:20

Tender Mercies are all around us! I will share a couple quick ones 🙂

Sister Andersen and I were walking to service when I had the feeling to try a potential in the area. No one answered and I wondered why I had felt that we needed to go there. Next-door, a car pulled up to Katie’s home. Katie is a less active member that is dying of liver failure. We have been trying to see her for a couple months now with no success. We quickly greeted the woman that was taking care of her. She let us in and we were able to kneel at the side of Katie’s bed and pray with her and read scriptures with her. As I testified of Gods love for her I was overpowered by the spirit and tears flowed down my face. I felt an intense love for this woman! I testify that God loves all of His children and is so aware of our needs! After the meeting, Lisa, the caretaker of Katie, asked us some questions about the Book of Mormon. Come to find out, she is Katie’s cousin and would often go to seminary with her friends! She is very lost and wanting to find purpose and peace in life. We were able to share the glorious message of Christ restoring His gospel. It was powerful! I know that as we follow subtle promptings the Lord will use us as His hands.

Another tender mercy was going to the Hartford temple. We were able to do baptisms with Katie and Shirley! Miraculously, we were also able to attend an endowment session! I learned a lot during that session and was able to spend sacred time in the celestial room to read my patriarchal blessing and find true peace. I went to the temple with a special fast for my mother who has been very ill. I know that there are special physical and spiritual blessings to those who keep their covenants and the Lord will always bless us as we turn to Him for support. I felt Peace fill my entire being and I received the calm assurance that it would all be okay. I know that God is aware of you. He blesses you with tender mercies each and every day!

I encourage you to recognize those tender mercies in your daily lives. Every night sister Andersen and I share our tender mercies of the day with one another. I have felt a greater sense of Gods love and a hope for the future! You will see those as well 🙂

LOVE YOU
