Manchester VT Week 37 – Receive your Redeemer

“For behold, thus saith the Lord God: will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept‍ upon precept, here little and there little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdomfor unto him that receiveth‍ I will give moreand from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.” -2 Nephi 28:30
Feliz Navidad!!! ‘Twas a glorious week, when all through Vermont, we were spreading the gospel of JESUS CHRIST AND IT WAS SPECTACULAR! It was one of the greatest Christmases of all time because I was able to feel so close to my Savior as I felt His love for my brothers and sisters! I love giving. It is such a great feeling to give! Just as important as giving, however, is receiving. Receiving the gifts of others, the gift of the Holy Ghost, the gift of the temple, the priesthood, the scriptures, the gift of hugs and kisses, the gift of a helping hand or listening ear, and most importantly, the gift of Christ’s atonement that He begs us to accept! A great question to ask ourselves is “How can I more fully accept the Savior in my life?” or “How can I better receive His love?” “Do I listen to the whisperings of the Spirit and follow His council?” Something to ponder on!
A few blessings I’ve witnessed this week:
– I received news this week that STEVE GOT BAPTIZED FINALLY! :,)
– Amanda and Nelson received the spirit of Elijah and blessing of the temple through doing family history and work preparing them for the temple trip!
-Sister DeGolyer received the promptings of the Holy Ghost to knock on a door we had already knocked on who was clearly out of town. A boy who happened to be dog sitting for the neighbor answered and said “you look familiar… woah, miss, I believe I found your camera.” (I had lost it earlier that week. I had been skipping and dancing around and it must have fallen out of my bag in the snow, but it was all safe and functional!)
– Novella received us into her home. We had such a powerful lesson with she and sister Varney. They are both incredible women!
-I received courage from the Lord to knock on a car window when we were filling up with gas the other night. The man was looking down, so I couldn’t quite see his face, when he looked up and rolled down the window, I discovered it was MIKE! He is still interested in meeting with us and we were able to give his daughter a gift and give him an awesome chapter to read!
– We received the love of Christ as we stared up at the starry night on Christmas Eve, we sat on cardboard boxes and ate cans of beans and corn by the side of the road for dinner haha! It was a blast to laugh and talk about how great the Lord is and gaze at the beautiful universe above us!
– Many of our familia received our songs as we caroled and shared the joy of Christ! Several even joined in our songs!
– I received the most delicious, homemade, Christmas eve, Italian doughnut after caroling to an upstairs apartment!
– My parents received my tears of joy as I spoke with them on Christmas day! They are SAINTS. They always spoil me!
– And finally, I received the healing power of the atonement as I knelt in humble prayer and poured out my heart to a caring Father in heaven! The atonement is real! Christ is real!
I challenge each of you to receive your Redeemer! To accept all of those blessings He would love to pour out upon you! It is only through following His example and keeping His commandments that we can fully accept those GREAT blessings! I know that to be true! I bear witness that Jesus is the Christ. That He lives and loves you! I bear witness that the blessings He has for us are greater than we can comprehend! Please, receive those rich blessings! I know as you do, you will feel the love of your Heavenly Father and Older Brother!  “Unto him that receiveth‍ I will give more.”
Thank you for all those who sent me packages, letters and love! I am so grateful! Thank you letters will soon be on their way! ❤
