Jesus Christ lives! He is taking active part in our lives and in carrying forth the fullness of his everlasting gospel and literally leads and guides His church on the earth! “After centuries of being lost, the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth by our loving Heavenly Father through a living prophet. The Book of Mormon is evidence of this. You can hold it in your hands. You can read it, ponder how the message in the book can improve your life and pray to know the message is the word of God.” (PMG 41) I know without a doubt that my Savior lives. I have seen Him guide my life. I have seen Him guide His church. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, called of God to lead and guide us in this day and age. How exciting is that?!

I have an incredible story to share with you all today. One that changed the world. Not too long ago, in 1820 a young 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith had a lot of questions about the nature of God and Christ and wondered which religious path he should take. He sought for truth and could not find it until the morning he ventured into a grove of trees and asked the almighty God for knowledge and enlightenment. He knelt down and asked God which church he should join. Just as he began, something spectacular happened. In his words he said:

“I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—“This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!”

I know that Joseph Smith truly saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ! I know that through him, Christ restored the fullness of His gospel. It is only through Faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end that we can find peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come! I can’t help but want to climb the rooftops shouting out this joyful news with the world! “COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELVES!!” God has blessed us with another testament of Jesus Christ- a companion volume to the Bible that can bring us even closer to our Redeemer! God has promised us in Moroni 10:4-5 that we can come to know these things are true as we too, like Joseph, ask God. “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.  And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”

I know that If you test out Moroni’s promise and really ask God, you WILL come to know these things are true and it will change your life and your eternities!

I have been blessed to share this precious truth with many people here. This week I have been able to share this with 12 souls who accepted a Book of Mormon and said that they would follow Moroni’s counsel. Last night we sat on the porch of a woman’s house. Her name is Rebecca and she is an incredible mother and grandmother and a God-fearing woman. We had the sacred privilege of sharing this message with her. At the end of our meeting, she offered up a prayer. In the prayer she thanked God for sending us at the moment she needed to hear of this truth and she broke down in tears. I gave her a huge hug while she cried on my shoulder. She didn’t let go for a long time. She just cried and cried and kept saying “Thank you. Thank you.” She want’s to read and study the Book of Mormon and come to know of this truth for herself. She wants to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. She wants to come and listen to the prophet and 12 apostles who give us modern day scripture. She wants to do everything she can to come to know her Savior more because of her deep love for Him. What a blessing it is for me to share these wonderful truths with everyone I come in contact with! Nine times out of ten, people think im a wacko, but its all worth it for that one who is thirsting for truth! Thirsting for those living waters that only Christ can provide! I know that what I share is true. I know that I was called by a prophet of God to share this message. I know that it will greatly bless the lives and families of those who accept it!

“And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

“For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—

“That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (D&C 76:22–24).

We declare in words of solemnity that His priesthood and His Church have been restored upon the earth—“built upon the foundation of …apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone”

My brothers and sisters, HE DOES LIVE! My challenge to each of you is to come and listen to a prophets voice! Listen to and prayerfully ponder the messages that will be shared with the world at General Conference this weekend! General Conference is a worldwide semi-annual conference where leaders of the church share inspirational talks and provide revelation for modern day times as directed by the Lord. It’s pretty much like Ted talks… but from God. You can find it on lds.org or Mormon Channel 🙂 I know that as you prayerfully watch it, you will receive a confirmation from our Heavenly Father this truly is the Church of Jesus Christ! The one and only living church guided by our Lord and Savior Himself! I love you and the Lord loves you! Go get ’em! (Mosiah 18:19-21)
