Provo MTC Week 2 – Find Joy in Today

Hello Kinz!!!!

I hope you’ve found joy in today and in this week. I know that I have! More than I thought possible. I have had some beautiful and very moving experiences. I wish I could tell you about them but I honestly don’t have time. But what I’ve learned from them is that we’re all brothers and sisters. All mankind is spiritually family and we have to support each other by showing love, kindness, long-suffering, patience, understanding, genuine concern etc. It is a natural reaction to shove your own opinions and feeling and way of thinking in others faces when you want to help them but you have to take a step back. You have to recenter yourself on Christ. How would Christ respond?
I love the story of the woman who was caught in adultery and brought to the Savior. He responded with nothing but love and forgiveness. I have come to have a deep love for everyone I come in contact with. I am amazed at how easily people open up when you show genuine concern and care for them and how cold and closed off they become when you simply give them advice or tell them what youve view is.
So this week I would like to challenge you to respond with love and understanding when others struggle. Sincerely try to understand them and act as our Savior would. I’ve done a LOT of repenting this week, let me tell ya, and through it all I have gained a more Godly view of my human family! If you could, I’d encourage you to watch this message! I love you all. Thank you for all your love and support! I can feel your prayers carrying me though! And I genuinely LOVE the MTC! I am sad to leave next week 😦
Love,
Sister Folkman
